Hand Sanitizer and Regional Conferences

Hand Sanitizer

So from what I’ve seen here, it appears that a very large number of westerners think that, in Africa, hand sanitizer is somehow especially necessary for daily survival. I’d just like to briefly debunk this hypothesis by pointing out that washing one’s hands with soap and water works just as well here as it does everywhere else in the world. Don’t worry, guys; it’s just Africa.

Regional Conferences

We’ve got more training coming up. This time it’s “regional conferences”, where all of the PCVs from a given general region of the country gather together for a brief training session. I’ll be heading to Dodoma (the official, but not de-facto capital of the country) soon to do mine.

Looking forward to seeing lots of people I haven’t seen in a while, as well as visiting Dodoma for the first time.

The focus of the training will supposedly be sharing our teaching experiences with each other and exchanging ideas and whatnot, which sounds very useful to me right about now, so I’m excited about it.
